Wooden Bowls

Wooden Bowls relates to C.A.R.E.S by the word cooperation. It relates to cooperation by, the four year old saw how upset the man was by eating alone so he took all the pieces and made a wooden bowl so they family can eat together. The lesson that story taught was that if you see somebody sitting all alone or doing something all alone you should stop what you are doing, and go and help them. Or at least invite them over to hang out with your friends or invite them to hang out with you to make them feel better.

Ask a Geneticist

One fact I learned from this was our chromosomes are together instead of being separated. This is because of the fact how we make babies. Also, because they split in two with each half to get a copy of the same DNA. Most other creatures make new offspring sexually. What this does is combine DNA from two parents to make the child. Our parents also give us copies of there DNA's so that's why we have some of their traits, hair color, eye color and skin color, Genes get passed down from one generation to another.
I Lastly, learned that their is an average 6 million differences between any two people's DNA.
Not every body has the same set of DNA's. Also, that over time chromosome brake off and go to other chromosomes and take some of their DNA to make one of the same DNA. Lastly, that an average human being has about 46 chromosomes.

While reading the passage "What is Heredity?"I have learned manny important and new facts. One fact i never even new was that humans can have more then thousands of genes. Also, one word that stuck out the most was the word chromosomes. I had no idea what the word was until I went to that website. Huumans have two sets of 23 chromosomes. Humans have a total of 46 chromsomes 2 times 23 equals 46. Parents contribute one complete set of chromosomes when having a child. Childs recieve 1/2 chromosomes from their mother, and the other half from their father. The transformation takes place when the sprem cell joins with the egg cell. When the sprem cell and the egg cell join they create a single cell called zygore. The cell than divides quickly creating a child. When the baby grows up and starts a family she'll contribute to the new child creating half of there cromosome. The last thing i learned was that throught the process of the cromosomes that is how some traits are passed on from genoration to another gernoration.
While I read "What is Traits?" I have leaned all of the three different kinds of traits. One trait is physical. The phyical trait includeds the chaceristics of ones physical makeup plus hair color eye color along with how tall the will be when they grow up (hight). Another trait is behavioal. The behavioral trait includeds the chareristices of the way the act and how the behave around other people. The last trait is Predisposition to medical conditions. That trait includeds an increased risk of getting a disease from on parents that could be passed onto the child. Genetics are our genes that determine our natural hair color . The enviroment helps with our hair. Like if you have blonde hair, and go out into the sun the sun will make your hair lighter. As you get older your hair starts to darken so thats why some people as they age decided to dye their hair to a different or lighter color. The hair color you had as a child will most likely be the color of your childs depending on the genes you had in your family.
